REGOLAMENTO
1. ORGANIZZATORI
Nell’ambito dell’attività cinematografica annuale promossa sin dal 2003, anche per il 2024 l’Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia promuove l’Ischia Special Challenge.
2. OBIETTIVI
Come di consuetudine, l’Ischia Special Challenge vuole attribuire maggiore valore artistico e visibilità mediatica a meritevoli opere italiane ed estere. Si presenta anche come una particolare opportunità di ricerca, analisi, approfondimento e dialogo delle opere proposte in anteprima o comunque già distribuite (in sala e/o sulla piattaforma) negli ultimi 12 mesi sia in Italia che all’estero.
3. DATA E DURATA
L’Ischia Special Challenge 2024 avrà luogo da domenica 7 luglio a domenica 14 luglio 2024, per la durata di otto giorni. L’Ischia Special Challenge 2024 si svolgerà sia in presenza nelle sale cinematografiche di Ischia, sia online sulle piattaforme mymovies.it ed eventive.org.
4. SEZIONI DEL CONTEST
L’attività dell’Ischia Special Challenge 2024 si articola in due sezioni:
4.1 W il Cinema Italiano d’Estate: Aperto a Lungometraggi, Documentari e Cortometraggi nazionali (di durata non superiore a 20 min.) distribuiti nelle sale e/o sulle piattaforme digitali dal 1 settembre 2023 al 30 giugno 2024 (o comunque in anteprima)
4.2 Finestra nel mondo: Aperto a Lungometraggi, Documentari e Cortometraggi provenienti da ogni parte del mondo (di durata non superiore a 20 min.) distribuiti nelle sale e/o sulle piattaforme digitali dal 1 settembre 2023 al 30 giugno 2024 (o comunque in anteprima).
5. LE OPERE
5.1 Le opere devono essere iscritte al bando di concorso pubblicato sulla piattaforma digitale Filmfreeway entro il 15 giugno 2024.
5.2 Deve iscrivere l’opera chi detiene i diritti della stessa o chi è legittimamente autorizzato dagli aventi diritto.
5.3 La selezione delle opere è a cura e giudizio insindacabile del Board del Festival con l’ausilio di eccellenze Globali individuate annualmente dal direttivo dell’Accademia e che intervengono alla manifestazione sostenendola in ogni ambito. Le opere saranno scelte in base alla qualità artistica e allo spessore sociale.
5.4 I titoli selezionati saranno comunicati via e-mail ai partecipanti del Contest.
5.5 Il Board assegnerà prima, durante e dopo la manifestazione diversi premi:
- Ischia Legend Award: In onore di Truman Capote, questo premio riconosce una figura leggendaria nel mondo del cinema o della musica1.
- Ischia Humanitarian Award: Conceduto a coloro che si distinguono per il loro impegno umanitario.
- Ischia Global Breakout Actor/Actress of the Year Award: Per gli attori emergenti che si sono distinti nel corso dell’anno.
- Ischia Global Music Award: Riconoscimento per i talenti musicali di spicco.
- Ischia Lifetime Achievement Award: Onora una carriera eccezionale nel cinema o nella musica.
- Ischia Art Award: Per artisti che si distinguono nel campo delle arti visive.
- Ischia Global Producer of the Year Award: Riconosce i produttori di successo.
- Ischia Global Breakout Singer of the Year: Per cantanti emergenti.
- Ischia Global Emerging Director of the Year Award: Per registi emergenti.
- Ischia Global Working Actor/Actress of the Year Award: Per gli attori che hanno avuto un impatto significativo nel corso dell’anno.
Ulteriori Premi a riconoscimento delle opere e del talento degli artisti individuati dal Board, unitamente ai premi speciali Ischia Legend Award e Ischia Lifetime Achievement Award, a beneficio di personalità artistiche entrate nella storia dello spettacolo per il proprio talento, verranno assegnati su proposta di uno dei membri del Board 2024.
5.6 Il Premio consiste nella consegna del Cavalluccio marino realizzato in metallo dall’artista campano Lello Esposito. Non è previsto alcun premio in denaro.
6. GIURIA
Per l’edizione 2024 a selezionare e giudicare le opere e ad assegnare i premi, ci sarà un Board composto da: Trudie Styler, produttrice inglese; Mark e Dorothy Canton, produttori americani; il regista irlandese Jim Sheridan, candidato all’Oscar; Godfrey Deeny, giornalista francese; Alessandro Salem, Mediaset; Madalina Ghenea, attrice rumena; Gragnaniello, cantautore musicale.
7. SOTTOTITOLI e MOVIMENTAZIONE COPIE
7.1 Le opere italiane di interesse internazionale saranno proposte al Board e al pubblico con sottotitoli in inglese.
7.2 I film stranieri saranno presentati in versione originale con sottotitoli italiani. Per i film parlati in una lingua diversa dall’inglese, si invitano i produttori dei film, quando possibile, a fornire al Festival una copia sottotitolata in inglese ed i dialoghi in italiano.
7.3 Le copie dei film selezionati dal Festival dovranno essere inviate:
– su file, per le opere che saranno proiettate sulle piattaforme digitali di Mymovies.it ed Eventive.com entro il 15 giugno 2023. I file saranno eliminati al termine del Festival.
– su DCP, per le opere che saranno proiettate nelle sale cinematografiche. Le copie dovranno arrivare presso la sede operativa della manifestazione a Roma entro e non oltre il 5 luglio 2023, seguendo le istruzioni che verranno fornite dall’Ufficio Programmazione. Le eventuali spese di spedizione delle opere sono a carico dei partecipanti. Le spedizioni provenienti da paesi Extra UE devono riportare la dicitura “no commercial value, for cultural purposes only”. La resa delle copie di proiezione avverrà entro e non oltre il 30 luglio 2023.
Insieme alla copia/file del film, dovranno essere inviati per email: pressbook con informazioni tecniche e artistiche dell’opera, foto, trailer e qualsiasi altro materiale promozionale da poter diffondere alla stampa e poter pubblicare sul sito web del Festival e sui canali social.
7.4 Non è prevista alcuna fee per la proiezione dell’opera nell’ambito dell’Ischia Special Challenge.
7.5 La Direzione del Festival curerà la pubblicazione di un catalogo generale (cartaceo e digitale) delle opere presentate.
7.6 Il calendario e gli orari delle proiezioni saranno comunicati dalla Direzione del Festival entro il 5 luglio. Eventuali modifiche avverranno esclusivamente per cause indipendenti dalla volontà dell’organizzazione (problematiche tecniche, presenza a Ischia dei talents, condizioni meteorologiche ed altre eventuali esigenze). Il programma ufficiale sarà stampato e diffuso dalla Direzione del Festival che comunicherà attraverso il sito www.ischiaglobal.com ogni eventuale ed imprevista variazione.
8. INDICAZIONI GENERALI
8.1 Tutte le opere inviate su DCP saranno assicurate da eventuali danni con una polizza di assicurazione “tutti i rischi” (comprensiva dello smarrimento o del furto della copia), stipulata a cura dell’Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia per tutto il periodo nel quale le copie rimarranno in suo possesso. In caso di smarrimento o di danneggiamento della copia, la responsabilità del Festival sarà comunque limitata al valore di ristampa della copia secondo le tariffe in vigore in Italia.
8.2 Le opere presentate a Ischia saranno selezionate su valutazione insindacabile del Board del Festival.
8.3 I giudizi relativi alle premiazioni delle opere e degli artisti sono di esclusiva pertinenza del Board.
8.4 Il presente regolamento è redatto in lingua italiana ed inglese. In caso di problemi interpretativi, fa fede esclusivamente la versione italiana.
8.5 La richiesta di ammissione allo Special Challenge implica l’accettazione incondizionata del presente regolamento
8.6 La Direzione del Festival può prendere decisioni relative a questioni non previste dal presente regolamento. Per ogni eventuale controversia è competente il Foro di Napoli.

GUIDELINES
1. ORGANISERS
As part of the annual film activity promoted since 2003, also for 2024 the Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia promotes the Ischia Special Challenge.
2. OBJECTIVES
As usual, the Ischia Special Challenge aims to attribute greater artistic value and media visibility to deserving Italian and foreign works. It also presents itself as a particular opportunity for research, analysis, in-depth analysis and dialogue of the works proposed as previews or already distributed (in theatres and/or on the platform) in the last 12 months both in Italy and abroad.
3. DATE AND DURATION
The Ischia Special Challenge 2024 will take place from Sunday 7 July to Sunday 14 July 2024, for eight days. The Ischia Special Challenge 2024 will take place both in presence in Ischia cinemas and online on the mymovies.it and eventive.org platforms.
4. CONTEST SECTIONS
The Ischia Special Challenge 2024 is divided into two sections:
4.1 W il Cinema Italiano d’Estate: Open to Italian Feature Films, Documentaries and Short Films (no longer than 20 min.) distributed in cinemas and/or on digital platforms from 1 September 2023 to 30 June 2024 (or in any case as a preview)
4.2 Window on the World: Open to Feature Films, Documentaries and Short Films from all over the world (of a duration not exceeding 20 min.) released in cinemas and/or on digital platforms from 1 September 2023 to 30 June 2024 (or in any case as a preview).
5. WORKS
5.1 Works must be entered in the call for entries published on the Filmfreeway digital platform by 15 June 2024.
5.2 The person who owns the rights to the work or who is legitimately authorised by the rights holders must enter the work.
5.3 The selection of works is the sole responsibility and indisputable judgement of the Festival Board with the help of Global Excellences identified annually by the Academy Board and who participate in the event by supporting it in all areas. The works will be chosen based on artistic quality and social depth.
5.4 The selected titles will be communicated by e-mail to the Contest participants.
5.5 The Board will award various prizes before, during and after the event:
Ischia Legend Award: In honour of Truman Capote, this award recognises a legendary figure in the world of cinema or music.
Ischia Humanitarian Award: Granted to those who stand out for their humanitarian commitment.
Ischia Global Breakout Actor/Actress of the Year Award: For emerging actors who have distinguished themselves during the year.
Ischia Global Music Award: Recognition for outstanding musical talent.
Ischia Lifetime Achievement Award: Honours an outstanding career in film or music.
Ischia Art Award: For artists who distinguish themselves in the field of visual arts.
Ischia Global Producer of the Year Award: Recognises successful producers.
Ischia Global Breakout Singer of the Year: For emerging singers.
Ischia Global Emerging Director of the Year Award: For emerging directors.
Ischia Global Working Actor/Actress of the Year Award: For actors who have made a significant impact during the year.
Further Awards in recognition of the works and talents of the artists identified by the Board, together with the special Ischia Legend Award and Ischia Lifetime Achievement Award, to benefit artistic personalities who have gone down in the history of the performing arts for their talent, will be assigned on the proposal of one of the members of the 2024 Board.
5.6 The Award consists of the presentation of the Seahorse made of metal by the Campania artist Lello Esposito. There is no cash prize.
6. JURY
For the 2024 edition, a Board made up of Trudie Styler, English producer; Mark e Dorothy Canton, American producers; Irish director Jim Sheridan, Academy Award-nominated; Godfrey Deeny, french journalist; Alessandro Salem, Mediaset; Madalina Ghenea, Romanian actress; Gragnaniello, music singer-songwriter.
7. SUBTITLES and COPY MOVEMENT
7.1 Italian films of international interest will be presented to the Board and the public with English subtitles.
7.2 Foreign films will be presented in their original version with Italian subtitles. For films spoken in a language other than English, the producers of the films are invited, when possible, to provide the Festival with a copy subtitled in English and the dialogues in Italian.
7.3 Copies of the films selected by the Festival must be sent
– on file, for works to be screened on the digital platforms of Mymovies.it and Eventive.com by 15 June 2023. Files will be deleted at the end of the Festival.
– on DCP, for works that will be screened in cinemas. Copies must arrive at the Festival’s operational headquarters in Rome no later than 5 July 2023, following the instructions that will be provided by the Programming Office. Any shipping costs for the works shall be borne by the participants. Shipments from non-EU countries must be marked “no commercial value, for cultural purposes only”. The return of the screening copies will take place no later than 30 July 2024.
Together with the copy/file of the film, the following must be sent by email: press book with technical and artistic information on the work, photos, trailers and any other promotional material to be circulated to the press and published on the Festival website and social channels.
7.4 There is no fee for the screening of the work within the Ischia Special Challenge.
7.5 The Festival Management will publish a general catalogue (printed and digital) of the works presented.
7.6 The calendar and times of the screenings will be communicated by the Festival Management by 5 July. Any changes will take place exclusively due to causes beyond the control of the organisation (technical problems, presence in Ischia of the talents, weather conditions and other possible needs). The official programme will be printed and disseminated by the Festival Management, which will communicate any unforeseen changes through the website www.ischiaglobal.com.
8. GENERAL INDICATIONS
8.1 All works submitted on DCP will be insured against damage with an “all risks” insurance policy (including loss or theft of the copy), taken out by the Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia for as long as the copies remain in its possession. In case of loss or damage of the copy, the Festival’s liability shall in any case be limited to the reprint value of the copy according to the rates in force in Italy.
8.2 The works presented in Ischia will be selected at the sole discretion of the Festival Board.
8.3 Judgments regarding the awards of works and artists are the sole responsibility of the Board.
8.4 These regulations are written in Italian and English. In the event of problems of interpretation, only the Italian version shall prevail.
8.5 The request for admission to the Special Challenge implies unconditional acceptance of the present regulations.
8.6 The Festival Direction may make decisions on matters not provided for in these regulations. The Court of Naples shall have jurisdiction over any disputes.
