THE ACLAIMED FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ITS 21ST EDITION JULY 10TH – 17TH
NAPLES, JUNE 6 – Noted British film director Joe Wright whose latest film Cyrano received 2022 Oscar, Golden Globe and Bafta nominations, will be honored with the Ischia Luchino Visconti Legend Award, Sunday, July 10th, it was announced today by Pascal Vicedomini, The Ischia Global Film & Music Festival founder and producer. Wright will receive the award at the festival’s opening night gala. The festival, which runs July 10th through July 17th, brings screenings, seminars and installations to various sites around the volcanic island paradise. Premiers will all be held at the Regina Isabella Resort and Spa’s where films will be shown on the properties iconic lagoon screen.
”Wright is an amazing international artist and we’re so proud to welcome him”, said Tony Renis, Honorary President of Ischia International Arts Academy. “His visually stunning achievements like Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina, and, of course, Cyrano, makes it particularly meaningfull to present him the Visconti Award, named after one of Italy’s greatest filmmaker’s was indeed someone who would have embraced Wright’s style and sensitive film making,’’ he added.
This year’s festival will be chaired by Irish noted filmmaker Jim Sheridan and British producer Sophie Watts, . The weeklong celebration is supported MiC’s DG Cinema and Audiovisual and the Campania Region….etc…..
