Versione in Italiano
Pupi Avati is one of the most iconic and prolific Italian directors of cinema history. He will be honored with the “Ischia Legend Award – in the name of Truman Capote” on July 9 on the opening night of the 21st Annual Ischia Global Film & Music Festival.
Pupi Avati has been able to span genres, from horror to comedy to even historical drama. He is well-known for ”I cavalieri che fecero l’impresa” (2001) an unusual adventure, reminiscent of chivalric poems. Another great example of the director’s skill is ”La casa dalle finestre che ridono” (1976), a cult horror film and great representation of the relationship between the sacred and the profane. ”Dante”(2022) is his last masterpiece inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio’s book ”Trattatello in laude di Dante”.
Ischia Global Film and Music Festival is conceived by Pascal Vicedomini. The project is supported by D.G. cinemaMiC and the Campania Region. We have more than 1,400 authors who have already applied to participate through Filmfreeway.
It has succeeded in its intent to bring the island back to the splendor of the 1960s. The festival in its 20 years of operation has hosted some of the world’s leading figures in film and music.
This is just a small part of the upcoming events. Stay up to date with this year’s news and exclusive guests.
