MEGDAN: BETWEEN WATER AND FIRE TO OPEN THE 22ND ISCHIA GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL

“MEGDAN: BETWEEN WATER AND FIRE” will open the 22nd edition of the Ischia Global Film Festival, held from July 7 to July 14 on the beautiful green Island.

The film weaves an intense sports drama around Zeka Zaric, a nightclub security guard. As Zeka nears the end of his martial arts career, he grapples with a lingering moral debt from his past. The film delves into themes of tough choices, redemption, and responsibility—all with a pulse-pounding adrenaline rush.

Among the already announced guests is Emir Kusturica along with Matteo Garrone (Ischia Truman Capote Award for the centenary year of the legendary writer and screenwriter) Edoardo De Angelis, actors Danny Huston and Michele Morrone, with Gascon (awarded in Cannes for the film ‘Emilia Perez,’ the first trans actress to receive recognition as a leading lady in a major festival) and Brigitte Nielsen, also Seydou Sarr. Among the Italians Luca Barbareschi, Gloria Guida (lifetime achievement award winner), make-up artist and Oscar winner Alessandro Bertolazzi.
For music with Nannini, (also honored with a screening of Cinzia Th Torrini’s film ‘Sei nell’anima’) Phil and Numa Palmer, Amedeo Minghi, Arisa and Walter Ricci. But more guests will be announced in the coming days.
Also expected among the producers for the now traditional summit are the legendary Fred ‘Buzz’ Feitshans, Avi Lerner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Raffaella De Laurentiis, Nicola Claudio, Iginio Straffi, Maria Pia Ammirati, and Alessandro Salem.

The Ischia Global Film & Music Festival, produced and founded by Pascal Vicedomini, and chaired by Jim Sheridan is produced with the support of MiC’s DG Cinema and Audiovisual and the Campania Region. The event is promoted by the Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia together with Siae, Riflessi-Made In Italy, Givova and Vulcano Buono.
